NEW YORK (Reuters) – Wells Fargo & Co, the fourth-largest U.S. bank by assets, paid Chief Executive John Stumpf compensation worth $21.3 million for 2009, more than double the $8.8 million he received in 2008, according to a preliminary proxy filed with regulators on Wednesday.
